You have been shortlisted, and this is the first of your three assessments. It takes 45 minutes and is marked out of 70. It is designed to show your academic foundation and your analytical depth, so take it at a steady pace — there is no negative marking, and an attempted answer always beats a blank.
[b]WHAT YOU WILL SIT[/b]
[b]Part 1 — Foundation knowledge.[/b] Conceptual questions covering broad engineering principles and the basics of your stream. 30 questions, 1 mark each.
[b]Part 2 — Discipline depth questions.[/b] Higher-weightage problems drawn from your specific academic background. 3 questions, 5 marks each.
[b]Part 3 — Applied security calculation & scenario judgement.[/b] Advanced problems that test analytical rigour under time pressure. 5 questions, 5 marks each.
[b]HOW THE TIMING WORKS[/b]
Questions are drawn at random from the bank for your discipline, so no two candidates see an identical paper.
Part 1 runs on its own 20-minute timer. Parts 2 and 3 then run together on a single 25-minute timer. When a timer reaches zero your answers are submitted automatically and that block closes — you cannot return to it. Watch the clock on Part 1 in particular, and do not spend too long on any single question.
You have one attempt. There is no second chance, so please settle in properly before you begin.
[b]PROCTORING — PLEASE READ THIS TWICE[/b]
This paper is live-proctored with AI monitoring of your camera, your microphone and your screen. Everything is recorded. Anything in the second list below ends the attempt automatically and submits whatever you have answered so far — there is no appeal and no re-test, so it is worth two minutes to get your setup right.
[b]BEFORE YOU START[/b]
• Browser. Use the latest version of Google Chrome. Nothing else is supported.
• Camera and microphone. Both must be on for the whole session. Allow access when Chrome prompts you — if the prompt is blocked, click the camera icon in the address bar and allow it there.
• Room. Quiet, well lit, and where you will not be interrupted. Put the light in front of you, not behind you, or you will appear as a silhouette and the system will not recognise your face.
• Framing. Your face must stay clearly visible and centred in the frame throughout.
• Desk. Clear, apart from your computer and a pen with blank paper for rough work.
• Connection. Use the most stable internet you have, and close anything that eats bandwidth.
[b]WHAT WILL END YOUR ATTEMPT

• Leaving the exam screen. Do not exit full screen, switch tabs, or open another application. Window switching is detected.
• AI tools. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot or anything similar. Using them cancels the paper.
• Speaking. Do not talk, whisper, or read questions aloud. Sustained noise or speech is logged as a violation.
• Other devices or people. No phone, no smartwatch, no second screen, no notes. Nobody else may enter the camera frame.
• Being absent from frame. If the system sees no face, or more than one face, for over 10 seconds, the exam ends immediately.
