AP Human Geography: Section II (Free-Response)
Section II has 3 free-response questions and lasts 1 hour and 15 minutes.
This section of the exam requires answers in essay form. Each answer should be in organized, well-balanced, and comprehensive prose form; outline form is not acceptable. Do not spend time restating the questions or providing more than the number of examples called for. While a formal essay is not required, it is not enough to answer a question by merely listing facts. Illustrate your answers with substantive geographic examples where appropriate.
You may pace yourself as you answer the questions in this section, or you may use these optional timing recommendations:
It is suggested that you spend 25 minutes on each question and that you take up to 5 minutes of this time to plan and outline each answer.
You may use scratch paper for notes and planning, but credit will only be given for responses entered in this application. Text you enter as an annotation will not be included as part of your answer. You can go back and forth between questions in this section until time expires.
